In October of 2003 a group of youth workers were beginning a project with the idea of helping youth ministries do, well, better youth ministry. One of the chief topics that the team discussed was the pros and cons of sending an entire youth ministry to a conference and be able to manage it affordably. These seasoned youth veterans felt that the only way they would choose to take their youth group to a conference is if the conference was affordable, attractive and valuable. At that moment Ignite was born, along with it came months of prayer, planning and preparation.
