Ministry Needs
Easy Worship

We would like to add another person to the rotation of running the computer on Sunday's.  Please speak to Adam Patton or Teresa Patton if you would like to learn this ministry.  It is not as difficult as it might look, in about 15 minutes you will be an expert!

Our Library
The library is in the fellowship/fireside lounge for thsoe who wish to use it. A sign out book is provided on one of the shelves and if a book is out for over 3 weeks, it must be signed out again. We have noticed that there are not too many people signing books out lately, which may be partly due to the fact that some are using the Kindle method.

Many Christian book stores are closing, making it difficult for us to provide new books. You may like to know that the closest store is 'Better Books & Bibles' on 16th Avenue NE.

If anyone has a new vision for the library and would like to be a part of the ministry, please let us know.

Karl & Julie Jipp
Our Nursery

The Lord has greatly blessed us these past three years with five babies.......this year we are expecting three more.  While we had four nursery workers in place in 2013, last year we were down to one and currently we have none.  Please give this considerable prayer as we really need to care for the littlest ones that God brings us.

You don't have to have a lot of experience, just a loving heart and a willing spirit.  If you feel you can commit to one Sunday a month to look after the children in the nursery, or would like to know more about this ministry, please speak to Robin Jeffries.

Sunday's Prayer Team Ministry

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Paul writes, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

As the faithful body of Christ at St. Luke's, we aim to fulfill the will of God in all that we do.  And so, we invite you to join us as we seek to fulfill God's call to be people of prayer, particularly a people who pray for each other.  Each week at the conclusion of our worship service we offer an opportunity for members to bring their concerns to a prayer team at the altar rail.  Those who come may have concerns for themselves, for loved ones and friends, or for a life situation.  Whatever the circumstance, the members of the prayer team lift that concern to the Lord and ask His grace, His power, and His loving intervention in our worldly trials.  Is God perhaps moving you to consider this opportunity?  We hope to have enough people engaged in this vital ministry of prayer that we can work on a rotating basis, week by week.  Some preparation can be provided for anyone who is hesitant or feeling ill-equipped for such a ministry.  What we require is that those with open and loving hearts consider prayerfully whether God might be calling you to offer yourself for these few, profoundly important moments on Sunday.

For more information or to investigate this ministry opportunity further, please speak with Pastor Peter or Ruth Jones.

Ministry Opportunity – Offering

During the service the offering basket is passed around to each pew and presented at the altar for the blessing of the gifts.

Following this it is then taken to the counting room and given to the counters.

If you would like to help take up the offering, speak to David Bull or contact the church office.

Helpers needed!
During the summer months when there is no Sunday School we would like at least 2 people per week to look after the children ages 5 and under. There would be no teaching required, just general supervision. Consider it a break to have a little playtime!
The more that say yes, the less often we'll need each person to commit. See sign up sheet on bulletin board.
Emergency prayer chain
The prayer chain ministry has existed in St. Luke's for many eyears. At present, we have 13 very dedicated people praying. Most of us have email and usually a request is sent by that method. We check our email at least twice a day, morning and evening. Those who do not have email are contacted by telephone. If there is an emergency that requires immediate prayer, we will use the telephone method.
Prayer requests are prayed for daily for a period of two weeks. If there is no update on the situation, then it is up to us to decide whether or not to continue with that prayer after the two weeks have ended.
Your prayers are confidential and are not passed around outside of the chain. However, there are certain circumstances where prayers may be given to others in the church by the leaders in order that more people are praying.
Men and women are welcome to join us. If you are interested in doing so, contact:

Multi-Media Ministry
The multi-media ministry is a vital part of the services at St. Luke's. This ministry includes both the set up and operation of the sound board and overhead projection throughout the service.

The two positions (sound and overhead) each require an individual to manage.  If you are interested in either of these positions please speak to Adam Patton.  No experience is necessary as training is provided.  The more people who are involved, the better the rotation system works.
