My salvation experience is so convincing to me that to deny it would be like denying my own
existence. That is why I share it so effortlessly. I know what happened to me and can tell you
biblically what went on as well. It is both experience and doctrine. Telling others about Jesus for
others however seems extremely difficult for folks to do. Maybe they feel that it wasn’t as
spectacular as it needed to be. This generation likes a good show you know. But I assure you the
Word is able to perform what it says it will do. And your testimony is a word from the Word for
someone backed up by the full faith and credit of the Holy Ghost, Jesus, God the
Father , and heaven itself. There are various types of witnessing such as confrontational,
relational, and so forth. It would seem like no one should however have a problem winning
others to Jesus. Statistics however indicate that many will never personally lead anyone to the
Lord.
That leaves a lot of what the Bible calls soul winner’s crowns unclaimed. Why should God
have to melt down somebody’s unclaimed crowns when a few pieces of information can make
all the difference in the world towards you claiming the ones He has prepared for you? First of
all, open your mouth. I know it seems simple that’s because it is. “Perfect love casts out fear” I
John 4:18. Meditate on this verse and then begin to say it out loud. I am not afraid to share my
faith with anyone anywhere. Jeremiah was told do not be afraid of their faces and to despise
not thy youth. Neither should you. And if right now you are saying well I’m to old then I say to
you quit being squirrelly. Like all motor skills the more you use the muscle that your mouth is
the better at doing it you get. Talk to God about it. Tell Him that you desire converts and
witnessing opportunities. He will. He however is the perfect gentleman and will not force
Himself upon you. He will not set you up for failure either He is a loving Father and not
intending to see you fail.
He actually wants this to be a lifestyle for you. So why would He start you off with disgraceful
situations. Little victories lead to big ones. Plus He already knows the people He wants you to
witness to. They have been waiting in His mind to hear your story since before you were born.
I John 5:14 says that, “If you pray anything according to His will then He hears you and if He
hears you then He has answered you.”
You can find common ground with whoever you to talk to and let that be your open door to
minister your faith to them.
Witnessing is the norm and should be thought of all the time once you have a new convert never
let them think any different. Soul winning is not optional. See Mark 16:15. Break them in this
way. If you do they will come to expect that it is supposed to be this way and won’t know at least
for a while anyone does it any different.
Persecutions should not be any different. Even though Jesus redeemed us from everything else
such as poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. We still suffer this way for Him in witnessing to
the lost. Sometimes people won’t understand nor will they see what it is that you are trying to
tell them. There is a grace though for this kind of situation and remembering what He went
through for us makes all the difference.
When you do successfully witness to someone and they give their heart to the Lord it is
important that they know what has happened to them. The new birth is an important part of their
spiritual understanding. No one can question that something has happened to them but
oftentimes they have no vocabulary to pass on to others that accurately describes their
experience. The scriptures tell us that all things become new and old things have passed away
when we are born again. What is being described is the regeneration of their human spirit. You
see when Adam and Eve first sinned they became spiritually dead people. God told them that if
they ever ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they would sure die. They didn’t die
physically that day but they did die spiritually to Him.
Some seem to think that we are all still one big happy family. The human race has two fathers.
Jesus said to some Jews He was speaking with that they were of their father the devil. See John
8:41, 42. Jesus explained that His father was God and these who did not put their faith in Him
were still children of another family. The family of Satan. We are not all children of God nor are
we all brothers and sisters. There is a distinction. Teach young people this and let it be the
springboard for messages of salvation for them. These bumper stickers that say coexist and list
various religions are from hell. There is a heaven and a hell. There is a God and there is a devil.
You must make a choice before you die. It is that simple.
