Summer BBQ/Cook-out: The POP owns a giant propane grill, equipped to sizzle enough meat for our large POP family.
Cuts of meat can be seasoned, rubbed with a blend of spices, slathered in BBQ or marinaded in a dressing of your choice. An easy and delicious marinade is 2 parts Italian dressing+1 part soy sauce+minced garlic. Soak the meat for a few hours ahead of time or overnight until they’re ready to throw on the hot grill.
- CHICKEN: Breasts or (legs/quarters are generally less expensive)
- PORK: Porkchops are great grilled and can be found on special/sale throughout the summer.
- SHISHKABOBS: Cut up your meat and marinade with fresh vegetables, such as mushrooms, zucchini, bell peppers, onions and cherry tomatoes. Just skewer and grill!
- CLASSIC MEATS: brats, hamburgers, hot dogs.
- CHILI DOGS-add chili, diced onions and shredded cheese to your menu for a fun chili dog night. (Canned chili works well as a topping).
- POLSKA KIELBASA/POLISH SAUSAGE: A Stevens Point favorite! Serve on brat buns & don’t forget the sauerkraut!
