Struggling at School - Part 1
May 9, 2018

Parents,

Have you ever looked at the calendar and felt your stomach drop as you realize your children are due to receive progress reports tomorrow? Maybe you smile a little as you think about your "straight A" 5th grader who’s struggled more than ever this past 9 weeks, or cringe a bit thinking of your 2nd grader who’s had to “work at it” just to get by.

Even when our kids consitently make good grades in school, it’s still something often on the forefront of our minds. No matter what type of student you have, we ALL ask ourselves "is my child learning what they need to at school? What can I do to help them do better?"

Whether your child gets great grades or struggles academically we all feel the strain of helping our child succeed academically.

Check out this month's video for a little coaching on how to help your child do well in school.

Every child learns differently and at different paces. We often find ourselves caught in the comparison game. Make sure you know your child’s strengths and that you’ve communicated those to your child. God created us all with strengths and weaknesses. Articulating that to your child can be tough- “Hey buddy, you’re just not good at that.” However, helping our child come to this realization will help them NOT feel like a failure if they happen to receive a failing grade.

With blessings,

Angie
