Our Faith

 We believe:

God is the Eternal and Infinite One:Our loving Heavenly Father came in flesh as the Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit, lived without sin, was crucified, and physically raised out of death. Jesus then ascended, returning to His eternal place with the Father. Father and Son have sent the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to lead disciples into all the truth.

The Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible: The testimony of the books of the Bible is inspired by God. With this authority, it is useful for understanding God's will and evaluating our thoughts and actions.
(Deut. 4:1-3,23-31; 6:6-7; Mat. 5:17-20; Luke 24:25-27, 44-47; John 5:44-47; 6:44-47,63-65; Rom. 15:4; 1Cor. 2:4-15; 10:5,11; 2Cor. 3:10-16; Gal. 3:23-24; Col. 2:8; 2Tim. 3:16-17; Heb. 4:12-13; 2Peter 1:16-21; 3:15-18; Rev. 22:18-19)

Creation and its Corruption:God made all things good, but God’s creation has been corrupted by pride, deception, and selfishness, separating us from God. Yet God is merciful and has remained patient and loving with us. God has promised judgment and justice, and new life beyond death.

The Gift of Salvation and Life in Christ: By dying on the cross and being raised from the dead, Jesus Christ fully paid for the sin of everyone and through His resurrection offers each of us resurrection from death. When we become convicted of our sin and ask for forgiveness, accepting the gift of faith in this finished work of Christ, we receive salvation and God separates us to live obediently in the same manner of sacrificial love as Jesus. We look forward to Christ’s glorious return while we live out our faith by the example Jesus set for us.

The Church: God calls us to pray and live as servants; caring for the poor, speaking out for the oppressed, and demonstrating love and compassion for all people, including the oppressor. As Jesus Christ and the apostles taught us, we voluntarily gather to support, encourage and care for each other; and to share God’s love and teachings with one another and all creation. Our mission is to be disciples who make disciples, learning and teaching obedience to all that Jesus taught, depending on the Holy Spirit's work in each one's conscience.
(Mat. 16:16-18; 18:1-23,32-35; 22:34-40; 25:31-46; 28:18-20; Luke 4:16-21; 22:14-27; 24:44-49; Acts 1:12-14; 2:41-47; 1Cor. 12:7,11-14,23-31; Eph. 1:22-23; 4:1-16; Heb. 3:12-14; Jas. 2:14-26; 4:5-12; 5:9-10,13-20; 1Peter 1:1-2; 2:1-5,9-10; 3:8-9,15-18,21; 1 John 11-17; Isaiah 56:1-11)

Ordinances: Jesus Christ taught us to baptize new believers by immersing them in water, and to regularly share in the Lord’s Supper (Communion). Baptism expresses our identification with Christ’s death and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper reminds us of how Jesus lived and died in sacrificial love for us so that we may live in the same manner.
