During the "Releasing Awakening" Conference at The Bridge Birmingham we were reminded of a prophetic word by Chuck Pierce in which he indicated that the State of Alabama would experience a season of travail druing October and November of 2010 that would birth full blown awakening by February of 2011.  Dutch Sheets then called for a 7-Fold Decree to be written and released across the state to bring the people of Alabama into agreement.  This decree was written by The Alabama Alliance for Reformation State Council (of which Pastor Michael French is a part) and released on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.  The full article contains the entire text that was distributed via email.

On Sunday, October 3, 2010 the service at The Bridge Birmingham took an unusual turn.  The Lord issued a challenge to our enemy.  To understand what took place it is probably best to watch the webcast replay of the service.  The article found here was included in a newsletter sent out the following week to the members of The Bridge Birmingham and provides additional informaiton about the symbolism that wsa used prior to the service during prayer and during the service in worship.

This is the fourth part in a series on discipleship and preparing for a double portion annointing.  This article focuses on the concept of spiritual sonship and the fact that the for too long we have gone about searching and even demanding that certain individuals "father" us.  Instead it is time to allow God to restore the fathers and bring them to us as He has decided.  There will be a personal call and mentors will arise.  As this begins to develop, sons must lay down their labors and join themselves to the work that God has aportioned for them.

This is the third part in a series on discipleship and preparing for a double portion annointing.  This article focuses on the concept of spiritual fatherhood and the fact that the church has ignored its responsiblity for far too long, deligating all responsiblity to a single individual with the title of "pastor".  It is time for mature believers to take up the mantle and train a generation to walk in the deep things of God.  While the members of the five fold ministry of Ephesians 4 are given a mandate to equip the church, it is the responsibility of every believer to conduct the work of the ministry and this includes discipling or "fathering" those who the Lord sets before us.

This is the second article of The Elisha Generation Series.  The purpose of the discipleship relationship is to impart the years of experience and wisdom that marks a father into the son.  The energy and enthusiasm of the son ensures that there will be an increase in the following generations. 

Discipleship has at times been the hot topic in the church and at times it has gotten a rather bad rap.  The intention of this article and the series of articles that follow is to re-define our understanding of discipleship and come to understand the real importance of fathership and sonship in the Kingdom of God.  There have been many discussions of why we are living in an Elijah Generation, but we must also remember that Elijah's full destiny was not fulfilled until Elisha took up his mantle and followed in his spiritual father's footsteps.

Sunday morning I was thinking about the need to sell my son Jake’s car. He has posted it to a couple of websites and I’ve posted it to my bulletin board (on our Intranet) at work. I thought to myself, how many people in the church probably have stuff they want to sell or buy or give away? Then I thought, shouldn’t the church be better connected than the work world? Absolutely! So, how about it, if you want to let the people in the church know that you have Girl Scott cookies or a Lake Estate for sale, why not post it to our bulletin board. Let’s get better connected and bless each other!
