Local performers

To support the children of Zimbabwe

The Mission Zimbabwe Project is holding its annual “Valentine” concert on Saturday, February 10th at Victoria Jubilee Hall in Walkerton. This year, local entertainers have donated their talents to provide an evening of entertaining and inspiring music. The concert will feature the return of popular pianist/singer, Sebastian Ellis from Markdale who was a big hit at the 2017 show. Mildmay native, Mike Derek will provide a medley of old time songs and Meaford native, Cam Fletcher will provide his unique style of country songs. Also featured are the ever popular Hanover based group, The Usual Suspects with their unique jazzy sound. Whether you enjoy country, gospel, contemporary, blues or toe tapping tunes, there is something for every taste at this variety show. Come out and support these mostly young local entertainers as they support the children at the Village of Hope and Vimbainesu Children’s Home. All proceeds will go to provide financial support for Vimbainesu Children’s Home and the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe.

Tickets for the event are only $15.00 and can be purchased by contacting Barry Mutrie at 519-363-3526 or in Walkerton at Brown’s Pharmacy and the box office at Victoria Jubilee Hall. In Hanover tickets will be available at Ashanti Coffee, Emke-Schaab Climate Care and Hope Community Church.
The Mission Zimbabwe Project is committed to continuing to financially support the Village of Hope and Vimbainesu Children’s Home. I can assure you that through the support provided by the caring people here in the Grey-Bruce area, HOPE FOR THE FUTURE will be given to many children like Dee featured below.

It must be emphasized that all funds raised by this concert will go directly to benefit the children. To find out more about the Mission Zimbabwe Project go to www.missionzimbabwe.org or connect on Facebook at Mission Zimbabwe.

Village of Hope, Zimbabwe: Dee’s Transformation

Meet Dee, one of the youngest girls at VOH Zimbabwe. Dee is 4 years old and she moved into one of the children’s homes at the Village last year. She is a real bubble of joy, always smiling and greeting everyone she meets. This picture was taken as she walked to her preschool class at the Village.

Since coming to Village of Hope from a very rough background, Dee has transformed into a joyful child with hopes for a bright future! Dee’s favourite pastime is playing with dolls with her friends.

january Update

New Year’s Greeting from Pastor Zowa

I received this letter from Pastor Zowa on January 2nd.

Welcome to 2018

On behalf of the village of hope Zimbabwe, I would like to say thank you for all the support you have rendered to us so far.
We come into the new year at a point Zimbabwe is filled with hope and optimism after a unique political change the first of its kind in our history. While this may bring promise to us, we remain focused on giving children I hope for their future.
Children in need remain a reality in the world. It is our desire as a village to keep doing our part in:

- providing education through our primary and secondary schools

- affording daily meals to children through our two feeding centres

- providing shelter to in our residential care program

- providing primary healthcare through our on-site clinic

- providing spiritual discipleship through our church-related activities

- providing life skills through a variety of on-site programs teaching hands-on work.

Over the years we have done this because you have chosen to partner with us. We are thankful to the Lord for your partnership.

Rev M Zowa
For The Love Of God And His People

 Mission Zimbabwe 2018 Team

This year’s team of eleven (Alex, Cathy, Audrey, Robin, Diane, Emma1, Emma2, Jessica, Verva, Barb and Barry) begin preparation on January 21st. They will spend the following 4 months meeting, planning and preparing, leading up to their trip to the Village of Hope from approximately May 4th to May 21st. You will be hearing more news about the team (the 12th MZ team) and about ways you can support the team in the months to come. Please pray for our team that they will develop a unity of spirit and service and that the young team members who are students will be blessed with the needed finances.

News Flash!

The Container that was shipped from Bethel Pentecostal Assembly in Goderich  is now in Harare and Pastor Zowa informed me that it will be delivered to Village of Hope on Monday. It is stuffed full with needed Education items so Monday should be an exciting day at the VOH.
