Aligning with Israel
April 29, 2013
On April 26 and 27, 2013, over one hundred prayer leaders throughout North and South Carolina gathered in Fort Mill, South Carolina on the North Carolina/South Carolina border to pray for and declare their alignment with the nation of Israel. The Bible instructs us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and that prosperity (not merely financial) will be the result. We, as a people, need the blessing/prosperity of God in every area of our lives and as Christians we need to show our respect for and allegiance to the nation of Israel.

With special guests Dr. Sherlock Bally and Susie Zieglar, participants received excellent instruction on the prophetic significance of Israel and our role with Israel in the times in which we live. Dr. Bally serves as a liaison between the Israeli Knessit and pastors and leaders in the US and Caribbean. Following these excellent teaching sessions, prayer leaders joined in signing a "Declaration of Alignment with Israel". The content of the declaration is included below:

"To the Nation and People of Israel:

We, as evangelical Christian leaders of the Carolina Strategic Prayer Alliance representing each of the Counties of the State of North Carolina and each region of the State of South Carolina within the United States of America stand united together to proclaim and agree:

Whereas, we acknowledge and affirm that the nation of Israel has the right to exist as a sovereign nation, we affirm the nation of Israel should have defensible borders according to the Word of the Lord over the land He gave to the tribes of Israel under the leadership of Moses; and

Whereas, we acknowledge and affirm the continuance of the city of Jerusalem as the eternal and undivided capital of Israel; and

Whereas, we acknowledge the nation of Israel is the birthplace of our faith in the one and true G_d; and

Whereas, the sovereign state of Israel is the trusted ally of the United States of America in the Middle East; and

Whereas, previous governmental administrations have shown support for Israel, and Israel’s leaders have affirmed the United States’ strong support for Israel and sovereignty as a nation, commitment to democracy and freedom; and

Whereas, Israel has proven its loyalty to the United States on many occasions, we as concerned Christian citizens of the United States and Carolina Strategic Prayer Alliance spiritual leaders give our loyal support in return; and

Whereas, Israel stands strong on the front line in battle against international terrorism and those who would threaten global peace and stability; and

Whereas, against all odds Israel has shown its leadership in seeking peace and the safety and protection of its people in every attempt to divide and eliminate the people and nation of Israel; and

\Whereas, citizens of Israel have the right to govern themselves, in the manner of their choosing, without outside interference from other countries or institutions; and

Whereas, the people of Israel have the right to pursue their lives in peace without the constant fear of attack, we pray for the protection of the nation of Israel and her people according to the Word of the Lord in Psalm 91; and

Whereas, the people and leadership of Israel and leadership and people of the Carolina Strategic Prayer Alliance share common values and ideals regarding the honor and respect of the lives of each human valuing the scriptural foundation of family and their protection; and

Whereas, we pray and stand with Israel to find the shalom they desire and to continue as the sovereign nation of Israel as ordained in ancient days by G_d; and

Whereas, we declare our undying love, honor, and respect for the city of Jerusalem, the nation of Israel, and her people.

In this agreement and covenant we will stand as one with Israel backed by the authority given to us through the revealed and written Word of our G_d for the preservation of the nation of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people.

Now, therefore, we, as leaders from the Carolina Strategic Prayer Alliance, do hereby proclaim we “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces. For the sake of my brothers and my friends, we will now say, May peace be within you.” Psalm 122:68

As spiritual leaders representing the kingdom of G_d from all the individual counties of the State of North Carolina and representatives of the regions of the State of South Carolina of the United States of America, we submit our signatures of office in agreement to actively support and bless the nation of Israel by diligently praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

In Witness Whereof, we have hereunto set our hand and acknowledged our agreement.

Signed by the Carolina Strategic Prayer Alliance on the 27th day of April in the year of our Lord 2013."

Signers included prayer leaders representing each of the one hundred counties of North Carolina and regional leaders representing the forty-six counties of South Carolina.

To our knowledge, such an alignment by intercessors on behalf of a state and its individual counties has not been done before making this an historical event for both North and South Carolina. Dr. Bally read a quote from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who stated: ""I don’t believe that the Jewish State and Modern Zionism would have been possible without Christian Zionism."

This event came at the onset of a Week of Prayer for the State of North Carolina declared by Governor Pat McCrory and just prior to the National Day of Prayer to be held on May 2nd. Let us remember to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122:6).
