You Crown the Year - Thoughts on calling and culling in 2018

“You have crowned the year with Your bounty,
and Your paths drip with fatness.”
Psalm 65:11 NASB

This verse played over in my mind as the pages leafed over from 2017 to 2018.

Doesn’t that sound deliciously delightful?! Crowns, goodness, bounty, the picture of a dripping overflow — all imagery that is very rich, positive and encouraging. The Lord then pulled my attention to John 15 — the vine and the branches teaching of Jesus. He reminded me that in order to increase in fruitfulness there are times in our lives that we must undergo some pruning.

Prayer Worrying or Prayer Warrior - There IS a difference
by Belinda Tigell

One of the things I remember my mum regularly saying as I grew up was: “If you worry, why pray? If you pray, why worry?” I don’t know if this saying was an original of her’s or if she had
heard or read it elsewhere, what I do know is, that as a kid, it would sometimes irk me to hear it repeated to me (sorry Mum😉). What I know as an adult is just how very true it is! Her words come to me often when I find myself worrying over something. It acts as a prompt to start me praying, and then, as I allow the Spirit to lead me, it’s a gauge for me to understand the manner and attitude in which I’m praying and just what it is that I am praying about.
