Some days hope is hard,
faith is hard, and
putting one step in front of the other is hard.
Some days those days are seasons.
As I went out one winter morning, the fog was thick - really thick.
It was hard to see very far in front of me. It enveloped me and seemingly overwhelmed everything around me. But as I put one foot in front of the other, this thought popped into my mind:
Although I couldn't see the sun, it was there. And - it was doing its job.
I realised that although the fog was present, so was the sun, and that eventually, the brilliance of the sun would dissipate the fog. Vision of my surroundings would be restored, and I would see not only the sun again, but the evidence of its influence - operating even in the midst of the fog.
Jesus is like that.
The Son of God is always there - even in the midst of overwhelming circumstances when we can't see clearly what next step to take.
As we walk in faith, knowing that He is with us, He will make each step clear.
As we walk in faith, eventually the brilliance of His power will be expose itself. It is exerting itself. We will look upon Him, and reflect upon our experience and see His presence and influence was there and was operating all along.
